the last two were taken in the Dominican Republic last year

Pomegranate, anyone?

I've never tried one myself, but I liked this photo enough to post on here. It was taken from my recent trip to La Gomera, which is an island adjacent to Tenerife.

So, I finally got round to actually finishing my gallery site. I think it looks LOADS better than the last one (and I can actually upload more than 72 photos) and so here it is

There are still a couple of things that need tweaking, but for the most part that's it. It'll be continually updated as I take new photos (which I've not done for quite a while actually) so keep an eye on it

Also, while I'm here I thought I'd post a couple of pictures for people who may not have seen them


First up, Narnia. One of the Tigers I had the pleasure of working with a few years back.


One of the Meerkats at my local zoo.


Lemur. I've taken quite a liking to Lemurs, They're very fun animals.


Lastly, Tugar. My absolute favourite animals in the world, and another I've had the joy of working with.

So many amazing photos guys! I'll just share one of mine. It's a diamond fire-tail finch perched on a rose bush in our backyard.

Also, speaking of buying cameras, I'm actually more than likely going to go and buy myself a canon 550d/t2i today. I've been wanting a DSLR for so long, but could never bring myself to buy one (trying to save up for trips etc) but I figure, with a little less spending of food while at work, I'll make up for it. It comes with two kit lenses, which aren't going to be fantastic lenses, but it will at least give me the variety to practice with before buying a really nice lense for birding for myself further down the track. So yes, I'm excited. Anyway, here's that photo I was talking about... taken with my 4 year old Kodak Z650 point and shoot, it has served me well.

I was just looking through my pictures from when Leor came to stay in England and this one caught my eye. I took this when we visited Yorkshire Wildlife Park which is a zoo about 15 minutes away from my home. I love the look this meerkat is giving me here, it's really too cute to resist. Look, I'm even getting a smile.



Leor has a really cute one too, which involves a meerkat looking up at him with those cute lil' eyes. ^^
